TIRF’s Community Rugby Program provides more than 20,000 children and youth to organized recreational rugby programming over the spring and summer. TIRF removes financial barriers that prevent youth from participating in rugby at the school, club, and rep. levels. TIRF offers rugby clinics and demonstrations in more than 80 schools, and 120 community organizations across the city.
In 2016, TIRF hired 43 secondary and post-secondary school students to help support the sport on a community level. This year, TIRF hopes to engage 20,000 more children and youth in priority, and low-income neighbourhoods, through rugby.
